Arai helmet shield installation
Right until you strap in, that is. The cheek pads are replaceable for a more personal fit. Up top, the ventilation system is greatly improved with three larger, closeable intake vents, plus two larger exhaust cowls. Positive latch mechanism provides Solid shield latching, while allowing normal operation of the shield. Designed to be an integral component of the shield system and function, not just an add-on afterthought. The simplicity of the function masks the complexity of the design.
This allows Arai to make a thinner and softer EPS liner for a smaller overall helmet. Weight reduction was achieved by decades of continual strengthening of the shell and a newly developed Z-compound resin combining multiple resins into one. Up, down or in the middle the new shield system adapts to many light conditions without sacrificing helmet impact absorption performance.

The earcups are easy to remove from the helmet and have removable covers for easy washing and access to this removable part. The new Pinlock lens comes with the helmet in the box and ready to install.
Once cleaned, protecting the shield surfaces with an all natural carnauba wax will not only help bead rain water but reduce the amount of dirt build up as well. This does not mean a full strip-down wash every time, that level of clean can be reserved for once or maybe twice a season.
More frequent, routine cleanings can be as simple as a quick wipe down with a wet towel, or a limted wash of the easily removable parts. After every ride, we encourage you to wipe the residual sweat from the surface of the interior lining.
